In one of the funnier bloopers this week, at a roundtable discussion on the economy, President Trump turned to Apple CEO Tim Cook, who was seated next to him, and said, “You’ve really put a big investment in our country. We appreciate it very much, Tim Apple!”
Cops Hassle Black Man for Picking Up Trash in His Own Yard
Police in Boulder Colorado have launched an investigation into a video that surfaced showing a white police officer pulling a gun on a black man who was picking up trash at his own home.
The officer approached the man, who was holding a bucket and a trash picker, and the “suspect” responded that he lived at the residence and was picking up trash. When the man complained, “You’re on my property with a gun in your hand threatening to shoot me because I’m picking up trash?” the officer called for backup, and eight police officers swarmed the scene.
As the incident escalated, one officer can be heard on the video saying, “My plan is not to shoot you.” When police realized that the man actually did live at the property and was just picking up trash, another officer said, “We’ve decided we’re going to end things at this point,” and the police left the scene.
Frequent claims of “fake news” have become a rallying cry for those who don’t like what’s being reported, but now there’s something even more sinister to worry about: fake fish on your plate.
A new study by Oceana, a conservation group, warns that DNA tests on popular fish dishes prove that what is listed on the menu is not what you are eating. The group warned that “consumers are getting ripped off” and called for a “fish fraud detector” to help consumers know whether the fish they are eating is real or faux.
Despite claims that America has “the most advanced healthcare system” and the best hospitals in the world, life expectancy in the U.S. has fallen for the third year in a row. The reason? A disturbing jump in the suicide rate and drug overdose deaths fueled by highly addictive opioids.
This latest drop is the worst downward trend in life expectancy for Americans since 1915-1918 when the bloody carnage of World War I and the deadly flu pandemic took their toll
